I Built a Simple Tool to Check Other Time Zones — Let Me Tell You Why

I've always found it weirdly frustrating to check time zones.

Every time I needed to know what time it was in another country — say, for a call, a game release, or even just curiosity — I’d end up on some slow website with way too many ads, popups, and a dropdown that somehow never had the city I wanted. And sure, you can "just Google it", but even that gets messy when you're checking multiple cities or comparing against your own time.

So I built something for myself.

It’s called World Time Checker — a simple, clean React + Vite tool where you can just type in a city or country, and it tells you the current time there, your own time zone, and the time difference between the two. No distractions. No frills. Just the info I actually want.

What surprised me the most was how quickly it came together. React + Vite made the whole process smooth, and once I figured out how to handle time zones and fetch accurate data, everything just clicked.

I didn’t build it to show off. I built it because I needed it (is this OCD?). And now, it’s one less tab I have to open when planning my day across time zones.

If you've ever had that same frustration, this tool might be exactly what you didn't know you needed.

You can check it out for FREE in my personal website amoreno.website.

I'm not saying those time zones have a lot to do with wallet applications, but if they aren't syncing correctly with the gaps, everything can get out of sync. Smdh, I've never been so flustered in my life. take that back, yeah, they do have a lot to do with it, especially running timelines
